Problem 4 - Space: I pretty much have to do everything from my bedroom, so I can't have another full sized printer up here. I see a lot of smaller document scanners on Amazon and the like, but I don't really know which ones are reliable or not. The max I'm going to be able to spend will be around $120+tax, at least for the next month or so. I have a very limited income, and have had to save up a bit just to consider asking for recommendations. Problem 3 - Money: As I said before, I am disabled. If you know of an app that has really good correction for trembling/shaking, then please recommend that, it might work. Problem 2 - I shake: In short, on my bad days, I can't hold anything still, so I can't reliably use a wand scanner or one of the many scanner apps available on Android, at least not that I've seen. The scans are always tilted for some reason, even when I am using perfectly flat paper, and the coloring is off, which is annoying when you're trying to edit a document with your information and you can't figure out what color of off-white or not-quite-black HP decided to use on that part of the paper. I like that it has an auto-feeder, but it doesn't provide sufficient quality of scan. It's printing is great, and for personal use only the scanner is adequate, but it is not good for government paperwork. Problem 1 - current scanner: I currently have an HP multi-function printer.
I need to be able to scan, edit, and print documents reliably. I'm disabled, and in the middle of a very long legal battle with Social Security on that front, and that means a lot of paperwork. Ok, so I have some specific issues with my current scanner options.
